Baseball

Varsity: Folsom 4, Central Valley 3

The Hawks made the long trip up North to Folsom High to take on a talented Bulldogs team and came up just short.  The Hawks had a 3-1 early, but one rough inning did the Hawks in as the Bulldogs plated 3 runs in the 5th inning.  CV did put a couple of baserunners on in the 7th, but couldn’t find the magic to get it done.  The Hawks fought hard against Folsom’s #1 starter on mound and CV proved they can hang with a solid DI program.  There will be no rest for the Hawks as they host another solid program this afternoon, the Laguna Creek Cardinals from Elk Grove.

Softball

Varsity: Hughson 4, Central Valley 2

The Lady Hawks were finally able to avoid a rainout after missing their first 4 games of the season due to the weather.  CV took the short trip to Hughson High and found themselves in a tight battle to start the season.  The Hawks came up just short, but put up a solid fight.  Bella Delatorre had a monster first game of the season going 2-3 with a home run, double, walk, and 2 RBI.  CV will look to put one in the win column this afternoon as they travel to Buhach Colony to take on the Thunder.

Boys Volleyball

Varsity: Turlock High 3, Central Valley 0

JV: Central Valley 2, Turlock High 0

The Hawks traveled to Turlock High last night and fell to the Bulldogs in straight sets, 3-0.  The JV Hawks were able to pick up the 2-0 win.  CV will be back in action tonight at their home opener as the Hawks will face off against the Patterson Tigers.
