Our boys wrestling season came to an end this weekend at the Masters Tournament, but another congratulations to our Varsity Boys on their WAC Championship season! I attached a season recap that was written by Coach Beckhart that details every individual starter from our varsity champs.
Girls Soccer
Varsity: Lincoln (Stockton) 3, Central Valley 0
The Lady Hawks season came to an end in the SJS DI Playoffs on February 13th at Lincoln High in Stockton by the score of 3-0. It was another outstanding season by our Girls Soccer program as they were the 25-26 WAC Champions (picture attached).
Baseball
Varsity: Central Valley 7, Enochs 0
Your WAC defending champion varsity baseball team picked up right where they left off last season with a convincing 7-0 win over Enochs on opening day. In an early season matchup between a couple of playoff teams from last season, things quickly tilted in favor of the Hawks as CV plated 3 runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. CV was led on the mound by Junior southpaw, Tyson Hunt who tossed 5 scoreless inning while racking up 7 strikeouts to earn the win. The CV offense was led by Mason Whitworth (2-3, 2 R, BB) and Ezequiel Verduzco (2-3, 2 R, BB). The Hawks will have a busy week starting with hosting Manteca today, then CV will travel on Thursday to take on Folsom High, and will then finish the week on Friday at CV against Laguna Creek.
Boys Volleyball
Varsity: Hawks go 1-3 @ Orestimba Tourney
The Varsity Hawks boys volleyball team kicked of their season this Saturday at the Orestimba Tournament. Coach Madrigal wrote a summary of the action: “We started off vs Buhach Colony. Lost in 2 sets but were leading in the first set. Our second game was vs Hilmar and we won in 2 sets. Our third game we lost in 3 sets to Big Valley. Our last game we lost to Patterson in 2 sets. The boys played well and battled through the tournament atmosphere, small court gym, and minimal playing surface surrounding the court. For our first contacts, boys played well and had a chance to beat every team we played.”
