Boys Wrestling Weekend Wrap-Up
The Hawks represented well in Watsonville over the weekend as they went to the finals in Dual competition on Friday and then had a solid Saturday, finishing 5th out of 51 teams.
Friday 1/9/26:
**Apple Cider Classic-Duals**
Went 4-1 in 5 duals losing to Central (of Fresno) 46-36 in the finals
Saturday 1/10/26:

Team placed 5th out of 51 Teams
Individual Medalists:

HWT-Sal Almazan, 2nd Place
Also placing were David Alvarado and Enrique Zavala at 215 in 7th & 8th place respectively
Competitive Cheer
The CV Varsity Comp Cheer team went to JAMZ in Stockton and came away with the Championship! The Hawks finished in 1st place out of 9 teams in their Division; CV was also Level Champs and Grand Champions! Congrats to our Comp Cheer team on their excellent performance.
Girls Soccer
Varsity: Central Valley 4, Johansen 0
The Lady Hawks took care of business on Friday as they went to Johansen and defeated the Vikings by the score of 4-0. This win moves CV’s WAC record to 4-1 as they trail Beyer (5-0) in the standings. The Hawks will look to keep pace with the Patriots this week as CV will travel to Lathrop on Tuesday and host Ceres on Thursday at River Bluff.
Boys Soccer
Varsity: Johansen 1, Central Valley 0
Varsity: Central Valley 2, McClatchy 1
The Hawks dropped a tough one on Friday at River Bluff by the score of 1-0 to the Johansen Vikings. CV did turn around on Saturday and picked up a solid non-league win at McClatchy High in Sacramento. CV is still in the middle of a congested WAC race and the Hawks will look to stay in the mix as they host Lathrop this Tuesday and travel to Ceres High on Thursday. CV will also take on Gregori today in a non-league matchup.
Boys Basketball
Varsity: Beyer 75, Central Valley 46
The Hawks fell to the Beyer Patriots on Friday night by the score of 75-46 to drop their WAC record to 1-2. CV will look to get back to .500 in league when they host the Livingston Wolves this Wednesday.
