Flag Football
Varsity: Central Valley 12, Beyer 6
JV: Beyer 7, Central Valley 0
In a crucial WAC matchup that squared up the 2 teams tied for 3rd place, the Hawks came through with the clutch road win! The Hawks were able to ride their defense to victory as CV held the Patriots to just one score. The 12-6 win puts the Hawks in control of their own playoff fate as the top 3 league finishers earn an automatic playoff berth. Last night, Ceres also upset 1st place Lathrop, so the standings are tight moving into the home stretch of the season. Lathrop and Ceres are tied atop the WAC at 8-2 in league play while CV sits right behind them both with a 7-3 record. Livingston and Beyer are 6-4 and tied for 4th place. It will not be an easy final stretch for the Hawks as they still have both Lathrop and Ceres on their schedule along with a pivotal Monday matchup against 6-4 Livingston and a date with Johansen on 10-15. With 4 games remaining, it looks to be a very exciting finish for girls flag football.

Girls: Central Valley 14, Pacheco 11

CV came ready to play and put in an impressive 14 goals while holding off the Panthers for the win. The last time these teams met, Pacheco pulled away with a 20-8 win, so to say the Hawks improved would be an understatement. Congrats to the Lady Hawks on a great win! The Boys water polo team gave a valiant effort, but eventually fell to the Panthers by the score of 9-4. The Pacheco team is tied for 2nd place and the Hawks did battle throughout the match and gave them a fight. Both water polo teams will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Beyer to take on the Patriots.
