Girls Tennis

Central Valley 9, Ceres 0

The crosstown showdown on the tennis courts on Tuesday resulted in another dominant win for the Hawks.  CV shutout the Bulldogs by a final score of 9-0 as the Hawks ran their league record to 7-0.  CV wins came from (Singles): Aleena Higle, Harkiran Sandhu, Aaliyah Jauregui, Valerie Espinoza, Serath Birring, and Roxana Orozco; (Doubles): Genesis Velasquez Pedraza/Valeria Sanchez, LunaSelena Cubillo/Emily Carranza, and Natalia Campos/Samantha Sarabia.  CV will be back in action today when they travel to Grace Davis to take on the Spartans.

 

Girls Flag Football

Varsity: Central Valley 21, Grace Davis 12

JV: Grace Davis 21, Central Valley 0

The Lady Hawks took the momentum from their crosstown win on Monday and made a 2 straight WAC wins with a 21-12 victory over the Spartans.  The Hawks are now 5-3 in league play which puts them in a 4th place tie in the standings.  The top 3 teams will get an automatic playoff berth, so with 6 leagues games to go, CV is in the conversation for a possible playoff berth.  The Hawks will play on Monday against the Pacheco Panthers at Ceres High 5:00pm/6:00pm.

 

Girls Volleyball

Varsity: Grace Davis defeats Central Valley 3-1

JV: Central Valley defeats Grace Davis 2-0

Frosh-Soph: Central Valley defeats Grace Davis 2-0

The Hawks dropped a competitive contest last night to the Grace Davis Spartans 3-1.  The CV lower levels were able to pull off the 2-0 victories.  The Hawks will look to get back on track on Monday when they travel to Pacheco to take on the Panthers. 

 

Girls/Boys Water Polo

Girls: Ceres 19, Central Valley 9

Boys: Central Valley 4, Ceres 2

Last night at the Ceres High pool, the Hawks took on the Bulldogs.  The Girls fell to the Bulldogs 19-9, but were able to put a solid number of goals in the net.  On the Boys side, CV took home their 2nd straight WAC win with a thrilling 4-2 victory in a defensive battle.  The Hawks water polo program will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Grace Davis to take on the Spartans.

 

Cross Country

The Hawks competed in the WAC Center Meet #2 yesterday at River Bluff Regional Park in Ceres.  The top finished for the Varsity Boys team was Enoc Reyes (18th) with a time of 18:51 in the 5,000 meters race.  For the Varsity Girls team, the top CV finished was Mia Muniz (15th) with a time of 23:59 in the 5,000 meters race. The CV Frosh-Soph Boys team continued their dominance as they finished in 1st place as team once again.  The future is bright for CV as this young Hawk squad took home 4 of the top 8 finishes in this 2.1 mile race: Isaiah Ruiz (2nd place: 11:34), Diego Gutierrez (3rd place: 11:40), Armando Gutierrez (4th place: 11:55), and Jose Mendoza-Comparan (8th place: 12:25).  The Hawks will next complete this Saturday at an Invitational in at Atwater High. 

 

Esports

Central Valley 2, Sierra 1 (OT)

The Hawks won against Sierra High School out of Manteca tonight in a close match. It took taking things to overtime, but the Hawks were able to pull out the win.  The CV squad was led by captain Kevin Gomez and teammates Cesar Pimental, Erik Muniz, Adrian Altamirano, and Eloy Ibarra.
