JV: Ceres 20, Central Valley 6

Frosh: Central Valley 28, Ceres 6

The Hawks flag football team had a difficult assignment on Monday night as they made the short trip to Ceres High to take on the 1st place Ceres Bulldogs.  The Hawks were led by Ayleen Apreza, who scored 2 touchdowns (1 rushing, 1 receiving).  Jocelyn Rivera also had 2 TD’s for the Hawks (both rushing) while the defensive leader for CV was Arianna Martinez (2 INT’s), including a pick 6!  Overall, the CV defense tallied 4 interceptions on the night.  The 31-28 win moved the Hawks league record to 4-3 while the loss dropped Ceres to 2nd place with a WAC record of 5-2.  With the league season hitting the halfway point, the Hawks are very much in the mix for a possible playoff berth.  CV will be back in action this Wednesday when they take on the Grace Davis Spartans at Downey High in Modesto 5:00pm/6:00pm.

Girls/Boys Water Polo
