In a non-league matchup, the Hawks remained on the winning side of things with a tight 5-4 victory over the visiting Merced Bears. CV continues to play well as they go back in WAC action today against Johansen. CV wins came from: (Singles)- Aleena Higle, Aaliyah Jauregui, and Valerie Espinoza; (Doubles)- Valeria Sanchez Luna/Selena Cubillo and Emily Carranza/Natalia Campos.

JV: Central Valley defeats Johansen 2-0
Varsity: Central Valley defeats Johansen 3-2 (19-25, 9-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-9)
After a sluggish start and going down 2-0 in the varsity match, the Hawks stormed back to pick up the 3-2 road win! Congrats to the Lady Hawks on a hard-fought victory. This is the first WAC win of the season for CV and they will look to keep it going on Wednesday when they travel to Lathrop to take on the Spartans.

Varsity: Central Valley 6, Johansen
In what turned out to be a battle until the final few seconds, the Hawks prevailed in a defensive struggle last night against the Johansen Vikings. The game was scoreless the entire night until the Hawks put one in the endzone with just 21 seconds remaining in the game! The 6-0 win for the Hawks pushes their WAC record to 3-2 and 8-6 overall. CV will host the Lathrop Spartans this Wednesday at Ceres High 5:00pm/6:00pm.
