It was a Crosstown sweep last night for our wrestling program as all levels dominated on the mat in convincing fashion over the Ceres Bulldogs. The Varsity Boys finished up their WAC dual season in 3rd place with a record of 5-2. Only the top 2 league team in the boys division qualify for the Section Duals, so CV fell just short this year. Both Grace Davis and Johansen (CV’s two league losses) will represent the WAC in the Section Duals. The Varsity Girls finished up their WAC dual season in 2nd place with a record of 6-1. Only the top team in the girls division qualifies for the Section Duals (this is the first year of Section Duals for the girls) and Livingston (7-0) will represent the WAC. In the future, the girls duals will expand to include more playoff qualifiers as more teams add the sport for the girls. The season isn’t over for either program as the Hawks will next compete in the WAC Finals on Saturday, February 8th at Livingston High.

Frosh: Central Valley defeats Grace Davis
The 2nd half of league kicked off last night as the Hawks dropped a road contest to the Grace Davis Spartans. The teams came into the game tied for 2nd place, so the loss drops the Hawks into a 3rd place tie. The top 3 teams in the WAC will advance to post-season play and the Hawks are right in the mix for a playoff berth. With just 6 league games remaining, CV will look to get back on track this Friday night at their Winterfest games vs. the Pacheco Panthers. Game times for this Friday night are 4:30pm/6:00pm/7:30pm. Good luck to our Hawks as they look to finish their season strong and punch a ticket to the post-season.
