Principal's Welcome Message

Hawk Students, Staff, Families, and Friends,
Welcome to the 2022/2023 school year. Although this will be my first school year as principal of Central Valley High School, it will not be my first year as a hawk. I actually began my career in education as a teacher at CVHS during the 2006/2007 school year. Since then, I have worked at a number of other schools throughout Ceres Unified School District as a teacher, a learning director, an assistant principal, and a junior high school principal. All of that said, I am extremely honored and excited to assume this new role. Although CVHS’s facilities, student body, and faculty have increased dramatically in size since I started here 17 years ago, I am proud to say that this school’s core values remain the same. CVHS was originally built for our students, and to this day, they remain our highest priority.

At CVHS, students will be enrolled in a rigorous course of study led by knowledgeable and dedicated teachers. We focus not only on educating students while they are with us at CVHS, but also on preparing them for life beyond high school. Furthermore, the CVHS faculty understands that students that enjoy school tend to have higher rates of success in the academic setting. As such, the CVHS faculty is committed to providing students with a plethora of unique academic and extracurricular activities to participate in. From athletics to clubs to Advanced Placement courses to our Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway, all students should be able to find something above and beyond that they can get involved with.
Additionally, we have an array of staff members dedicated to working with and aiding our students in all numbers of ways. For example, we have teachers on hand to educate our students, paraprofessionals dedicated to providing students with additional instructional support, a team of counselors available to assist students socially and emotionally, and learning directors committed to guiding our students through high school and into the world of college and careers.
We also value our parents, community members, and educational partners, and ask that you come out and be a part of CVHS. Feel free to attend athletic events, performances by our Arts and Technology department, and events like Back to School Night and Open House. We also value your insight and input, and we encourage you to participate in our parent groups, such as Parents for a Better Future, Coffee with the Principal, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), etc. Also, the faculty here is not only dedicated to helping your child be successful, but also in working with you. Feel free to call CVHS for any concerns or suggestions you may have.

Take care and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
